Mr Hussain Dawood serves as the Chairman of The Dawood Foundation (TDF), focusing primarily on promoting and supporting the dissemination of value-based education and informal learning in Pakistan, particularly in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

Besides TDF, Mr Dawood serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Dawood Hercules Corporation (DH Corp). As an entrepreneur, businessman, and philanthropist, he has driven the Dawood Hercules Group and its investments, since 2002, into new fields of business and achieved new levels of growth in revenues. He has followed a vision of purpose to endeavour to make notable contributions to sectors that are drivers of economy and society. He also serves as the Chairman of Engro Corporation.

Committed to human development, Mr Dawood is also the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Governors of KSBL (Karachi School of Business and Leadership), a graduate management school focused on inspiring effective leaders. Mr Hussain Dawood also acts as Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Karachi Education Initiative and is a member of the Board of Governors of the Islamabad Policy Research Institute. He has been leading the Group’s engagement with the World Economic Forum since 1992.

Mr Dawood has also been involved in the development of the local health sector. He was on the Board of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital from February 2002 till March 2007. He also took over the responsibility as a Trustee of Al Shifa Eye Hospital in March 1986.

Amidst the challenges COVID-19 presented, Mr Hussain Dawood, on behalf of Dawood Hercules Corporation; Engro Corporation; and his family, pledged a contribution in services, kind, and cash of PKR 1 billion for the short-, medium-, and long-term. The pledge focuses on disease prevention, protecting and enabling healthcare practitioners and frontline workers, patient care and facilities, and bolstering livelihoods and sustenance of the most deserving in society.

For his role as the Honorary Counsel of Italy, he was conferred the award ’Ufficiale Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana’ by the Italian government.

Mr Dawood holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, USA, and is a graduate in Metallurgy from Sheffield University, UK.
