Hussain Dawood
ChairmanMr Dawood, an entrepreneur, businessman and philanthropist, has served as Chairman of the Board of Engro Holdings and Engro Corporation since 2002. His vision is to contribute to sectors that are drivers of the economy and society.
He is Founder and Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Karachi School of Business and Leadership (KSBL), a graduate management school focused on character-driven leadership. His other roles include chairing the Board of Directors of The Karachi Education Initiative.
Since 1992, he has led the Group's engagement with the World Economic Forum. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, USA, and a degree in Metallurgy from the University of Sheffield, UK.
Kulsum Dawood
TrusteeMrs Dawood serves as a Trustee of the Family Welfare Co-operative Society, which uplifts underprivileged Pakistani women, and is a member of Developments in Literacy (DIL), Karachi.
Her charitable commitments span healthcare, education and economic development, supporting organisations including SOS Children's Villages, the Depilex Smile Again Foundation, CARE, The Lahore Hospital Welfare Society and the All-Pakistan Women's Association. She also served as President of the Women's Voluntary Service and the Punjab Women's Swimming Association from 2000 to 2005.
Mrs Dawood has attended Family Business courses at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) and INSEAD, and has regularly attended the World Economic Forum Annual Meetings in Davos over several decades.
Sabrina Dawood
Vice ChairDuring her tenure as CEO of TDF, Mrs Dawood transformed Dawood Public School, opened TDF Ghar in 2017, and launched the TDF MagnifiScience Centre in 2021 and the TDF Daycare in 2023, initiatives that now define TDF's contemporary identity.
Her governance roles include a directorship on the Board of Engro Holdings and seats on the Boards of Dawood Lawrencepur Limited, the Karachi Education Initiative, and the Hajiani Hanifabai Memorial Society. She is additionally a Trustee of Engro Foundation and a Member of the Board of WWF Pakistan.
She holds a Master's in Medical Anthropology from University College London and a Bachelor's in Anthropology and Law from the London School of Economics.
Christine Dawood
TrusteeMrs Dawood published her memoir, Ninety-Six Hours: A Wife and Mother's Desperate Search for the Lost Titan Sub, in 2026, following the loss of her husband Shahzada and son Suleman in the Titan submersible disaster. She has since spoken widely on grief and resilience, and plans to establish a grief and trauma centre in their memory.
Mrs Dawood founded her own commercial-scale organic agriculture business in Punjab. She sits on the Boards of Beaconhouse National University, the Global Fund for Widows, and the SETI Institute's Council of Advisors.
Academically, she holds a BSc (Dipl. Ing.) in Textile Technology and Management from Reutlingen University, an Executive Masters in Consulting and Coaching for Change jointly from Oxford's Saïd Business School and HEC Paris, and an MSc in Occupational and Business Psychology from Kingston University, London.
Abdul Samad Dawood
TrusteeMr Dawood is Vice Chairman and CEO of Engro Holdings. He serves on the boards of other companies, including Engro Corporation, Dawood Lawrencepur, Khaadi Corporation, the Karachi Education Initiative, and the Karachi School of Business and Leadership. His past board roles include The Hub Power Company and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines.
With over 20 years of experience in management and governance, he has a particular interest in mergers and acquisitions, having led multi-billion-dollar deals including the acquisition of The Hub Power Company in 2012 and the 2025 acquisition of telecommunications towers, establishing the Group as one of the major owners in the industry. He also led the merger of Engro Foods into FrieslandCampina, where he now serves as Chair of the Board.
He is a graduate in Economics from University College London, UK, and a certified director of corporate governance from the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance.
Shafiq Ahmed
TrusteeMr Ahmed joined The Dawood Group in 2007 and has since held senior leadership roles across the Group's portfolio, including CEO of Dawood Lawrencepur Limited and Tenaga Generasi Limited. He currently leads the Group's private entities, Dawood Investment Pvt. Ltd. and Dawood Corporation Pvt. Ltd., in the same capacity.
He also serves as Trustee of the Hajiani Hanifa Bai Memorial Trust and heads the Group's Family Office in Pakistan. His other board roles include Dawood Lawrencepur Limited, Tenaga Generasi Limited, Reon Alpha Limited, and Inbox Business Technologies Limited.
With a career spanning over 25 years, including senior roles at the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation and Ernst & Young (EY), he brings deep expertise in finance and governance. He is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and holds a degree in Law from the University of Karachi.
Ahsan Zafar Syed
TrusteeMr Syed is President and Chief Executive Officer of Engro Corporation. He joined Engro in 1991 as an engineer and has since built over three decades of experience across the petrochemical, energy, and food & agriculture sectors.
Prior to his appointment in 2024, he led Engro Fertilizers, turning it into the most valuable fertiliser company on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. Earlier in his career, he led the construction of the $1.1 billion EnVen Plant.
In recognition of his contribution to the profession, he received the National Engineering Excellence Award from the Institution of Engineers Pakistan in 2024. He is an alumnus of NED University, Karachi, and Manhattan College, New York, and attended an advanced management programme at INSEAD, France.
